The traditional roots of the ALPINE EVO GTX cannot be denied. Nonetheless, the concept used in this mountaineering boot has forged new paths. It all starts at the very beginning – when you slip your feet into the boots. The elastic collar made of a soft Lycra material creates a form-fitting embrace around the leg and will prevent nettlesome pebbles from sneaking into your boots.
Features of the LOWA Alpine Evo GTX Men’s Mountaineering Shoes
- 100% GORE-TEX: Equipped with GORE-TEX membrane, making the shoe reliably waterproof, windproof and breathable
- The performance sole VIBRAM® ALP TRAC® NUMEN Sole is designed especially for alpine conditions. The large “climbing zone” on the sole tip enables wearers to move precisely as they manoeuvre their way up sheer rock faces. The stud arrangement ensures that any dirt that accumulates in the sole of the footwear will be shaken loose while the boot wearer is walking
- Climbing Zone: A specially constructed component in the area of the sole tip for precise performance during easy climbs
- Roller eyelets make for easy lacing
- 2 Zone Lacing: The forefoot and upper area can be laced in varying degrees of tightness
- Flexfit: Increased flexibility of the upper for pleasant walking
- Close to the Ground: The low height of the sole creates stable footing on uneven terrain
- I-Lock: Special fastening hooks divide the lacing system into two zones so they can be independently locked in place
- LOWA Reptex: This material strengthens the upper much like a reptile’s protective shell
- X-Lacing: Holds the tongue in place with the help of the laces and prevents slippage in the process
- Semi-Auto Crampon: Suitable for semi-automatic crampons with heel bar
- The footwear exhibits very strong resistance to bending
- The shoe can be resoled
- Upper material: 80 % Suede leather | 20 % Synthetic
- Weight per shoe: 760 grams (EU 42 | UK 8)
The lacing system has been moved farther to the front, an enhancement that enables wearers to optimally adjust their laces. Additional comfort is provided by the X-LACING® system that is used to fix the footwear’s tongue into place and the locking hooks for a dual-zone lacing system. Users’ feet will remain dry no matter what thanks to the waterproof GORE-TEX lining used the boots. But the biggest highlight of all is the boot’s LOWA-REPTEX elements made of PU material that have been injected onto the upper. They not only take the place of the classic rubber rand, but also provide both the necessary stability and a refreshingly modern look, all whilst helping the boot shed a little weight. The ALPINE EVO GTX is the perfect choice for the toughest terrains, thanks in part to the new VIBRAM®-ALP-TRAC®-NUMEN outsole, carbon-reinforced midsole and robust heel and toe cap.
